This second themed compilation album from the netlabel is dedicated to the inspiration that cats have on the HNW community. HNW artists have been invited to contribute walls dedicated to their cats, or to cats in general, or to how cats make them feel - how they inspire us.

The calming and meditative properties of purring are not very dissimilar from HNW itself and this compilation establishes that very well. In my humble opinion, the dichotomy between the shrill shrieking cats are capable of in their "caterwauling" and their luscious, ambient purrs is reflected well in the noise scene/community and its obsession with harsh, dissonant feedback and how closely this obsession sits beside a fixation on calming and ambient minimalism such as is present within the sub-domain of HNW.

I would like to personally thank my four cats: Moomin (Pictured), Q, Son & Lula. And thank you to everyone involved, specifically to Gabe (Shum) for kicking me into gear to get the ball rolling on this compilation, and to Peter (P T R K L L R) for suggesting artists contribute more than their walls. Included in this albums download is bonus material sent in by the artists with images/artworks of their cats.

PS. As with the HNW 100th celebration compilation, this compilation has some accepted submissions which are not HNW, this was not originally going to happen at all, but due to the compilation being open for so long, and having such a long runtime, I felt it would be ideal to return to the notion of allowing some "cushioning" for the walls - and of course, the non-wall submissions are at least still loving dedications to cats! However, this appeasement of non-wall submissions will likely not continue into the next few compilations which already have plans being made for them.
